ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Gabriel. I'm a graphic artist based in Pasadena, CA.

I'm a graphic artist based in Pasadena, California with a bachelor's degree in design and over a decade of professional experience spanning print, web, photography, and video. After graduating from college, I decided to start my own freelance business in the middle of what turned out to be the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression. The idea of being my own boss, with the ability to choose projects that would scratch my creative itch, was very romantic.

A harsh reality quickly disavowed me of that illusion. Not only were jobs scarce, I had to significantly broaden my skills just to compete with my colleagues on the Titanic. All clients now expect multiple tasks that were normally performed by two or more specialists of a single person. The diversity in my portfolio best reflects how I met the challenges of changing times.

When I'm not pushing pixels I enjoy watching movies and pro football. You can sum me up as a film buff who wears a yellow foam cheese wedge on my head on Sundays. Photography is my other hobby but I have managed to turn it into a marketable skill.
